Projects: Charlie Le Mindu ‘Modesty and Womens Wrath’ Exhibition

A retrospective of Charlie Le Mindu wigs and presentation of his latest collection at London Fashion Week is currently being displayed in the exhibition, “Modesty and Women ‘s wrath”. Exploring the mysteries of women concealing and revealing their bodies, their sexuality. The exhibition attempts to unveil and break down barriers in understanding notions of a woman’s sexuality, in public and private. Uniquely looking to the views points of eastern and western cultures for answers.

The exhibition also has contributions from many other international artists such as, Louise Bourgeois and Orlan. All aiming to further extend understanding of what exactly is conceived as femininity today, its rituals, expectations and experiences. The exhibition leaves us with an even greater question of, what is masculinity seen as today, in contrast to the images of femininity today?

Exhibition is open from March 3rd to September 25th 2011
