Remember the Marios Schwab inspired 3D issue of Dazed last year? Burberry are upping the bar and plan to stream the whole of their upcoming AW/2010 show live in 3D later this month. How cool is that! This follows in the footsteps of McQueen’s online catwalk broadcast last season, which was a collaborative project with Showstudio. Hopefully it won’t crash like the McQueen site, which went down mid-show due to thousands of Gaga fans logging on to hear her new single.
Burberry’s idea also sets itself aside from the London Fashion Week on-schedule shows, which are also planned to be also broadcast live around the world online, but not in 3D. The real question is whether Burberry can solve the problem of those unstylish 3D specs, and how they will persuade Anna Wintour to remove her sunglasses for the event…
