Over next twelve episodes, Charlie will be transforming boring guys and girls and injecting a bit of fun into their style, with styling by the very sexy Namalee who will be looking after the ‘fashion box’.
Here is episode one featuring Anisa. Expect big heels, big hair, and an even bigger tan… Stay tuned for episode two will be live on Konbini next week!
As an extension of Charlie’s last AW2010 collection ‘Sex, Religion, Bullshit, Lucifer’, Charlie and Anna Trevelyan were asked to transform the basement gallery of Machine-A into something special. It can only be described as dark, slutty, a little bit scary, and of course hairy. With naked girls in black hairy burqas and stripper shows crawing from behind headstones and a giant pussy grave in the grass floor, a giant hair fountain, hairy fitting room curtains, rain projections and loud sound, the installation certainly took everyone by surprise as they descended down the staircase into the interactive space… The set design was by the very talented Alun Davies, styling by Anna Trevelyan, drawings by Stefan Schwartzman and costumes by Charlie Le Mindu assisted by Richie Kuncyusz.
Here are some pics by the amazing Saga Sig from the event:
Machine-A is one of London’s newest and most exciting boutiques. Set up by Stavros Karelis in 2009, it is a unique space combining fashion and art, dedicated to showcasing London’s most exciting emerging talent. As well as being a shop and gallery space, Machine-A helps nurture nurture new talent, providing mentor support for designers starting their careers.
To celebrate it’s first birthday Charlie Le Mindu was asked to work on an exclusive tshirt design and installation (with the amazingly talented Anna Trevelyan!) for the shop. The drawing for the tshirt was created by Charlie’s illustrator Stefan Schwartzman, which was also made into fake tattoos too (keep an eye out for more of Stefan’s hot work coming here soon!). Pics of the installation will follow shortly, but for now here is the tshirt drawing and Bishi sporting one of the tattoos at the party too (thanks Fred Butler for the pic):
