Voluptuous Panic: The 18th Annual Watermill Summer Benefit. Atists and Watermill international Summer Program Participants from over 30 countries will create six acres of installations and performances through out the grounds of Watermill during the event. The funds raised will support the Watermill Center’s Summer Program and Residency which rovides a unique enviornment for young and emerging artists to explore and develop their work.
the silent and live auction includes 85 lots from emerging and established artists including Marina Abramovic, Ross Bleckner, Robert Mapplethorpe, Yoko Ono, Walter Pfeiffer, David Salle, Cindy Sherman, Taryn Simon, Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin and Aaron Young, among others with special lots created in clebration of Robert Wilson’s 70th Birthday.
The dresscode for this summer is fearless. Charlie Le Mindu will present his new creations “the Voluptuous Panic Attackers’ from the Atopic Bodies series curated by Vassilis Zidianakis.
Honorary Chairs: Marina Abramovic, Jane Adams, Pedro Almodovar, Laurie Anderson, David Bowie & Iman,Steve Buscemi, Chuck Close, Bob Colacello, Willem Dafoe, Frank Gehry, PHilip Glass,Nan Goldin, Zaha Hadid, H.R.H. Princess Caroline of Hanover, Anjelica Huston, Jenny Holzer, Bianca Jagger, Harvey Keitel, the list is long and very impressive but you get the idea of the collaborations.
Tables start at $10,000, dinner tickets at $1,000.
